Hi Melissa and gang! Thank you for inviting me (and by default my daughter and YA writing partner, Kristin). Some of you may already be familiar with my adult books - I write the Goddess Summoning Series for Berkley and fantasy books set in my world of Partholon for LUNA.

But right now I'm most excited about the House of Night YA series Kristin and I co-author for St. Martin's. It's kind of like Harry Potter meets Gossip Girls meets Dark Shadows. Definitely on the dark side, with a nice dose of humor added in. MARKED was released in May with BETRAYED following in October. CHOSEN will be out in March 08 and UNTAMED (which I'm writing right now) releases in August 08. There will be at least 6 House of Night books following our heroine, Zoey Redbird. We've also just agreed to a 3 book spin-off of the series (can't say too much about who that will follow or I'll mess up CHOSEN).

Writing the books is fun! Not only am I very much enjoying YA, but writing with my daughter is good stuff. She does love to have a venue in which to tell me I'm wrong (occasionally). Our take on vampyres is biologically based, but we do sprinkle in quite a bit of magic. The world in which our vamps exist is matriarchal. They worship the Goddess of Night, Nyx. All of that puts them in conflict with traditional Bible Belt Tulsa, which is where the first books are set. Makes for interesting problems, that's for sure...

Feel free to ask any questions. And again, thanks for inviting me here!

PC
